Skin Cancer Screening
Spot It Early. Treat It Early.
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States—but when caught early, it’s highly treatable. That’s why your physician at Seale Harris Clinic will perform a full-body skin exam during your visit, carefully checking for any suspicious moles or growths.
What to Expect
During your skin cancer screening at Seale Harris Clinic, your physician will:
-
Perform a head-to-toe skin exam, checking for unusual moles, growths, or discolorations
-
Pay close attention to areas commonly exposed to the sun, such as the face, arms, and back
-
Examine any spots you point out or have concerns about
-
Review your personal and family history of skin cancer
-
Discuss your lifestyle and sun exposure habits to assess overall risk
If anything suspicious is found, we may recommend monitoring the area, performing a biopsy, or referring you to a dermatologist for further evaluation.
Know the Risks
We also assess your risk based on factors like:
-
Family history of skin cancer
-
History of sunburns or tanning bed use
-
Skin type and complexion
-
Time spent outdoors without protection
If you have any moles or spots that concern you, be sure to point them out during your exam. Your physician is here to help you take action before problems arise.
